- Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in Bridgeton has welcomed a new pastor, Dale Cochran, along with his wife, Barbara, and daughter, Tina. He began his ministry at Trinity on Aug. 17.

Cochran is a native of Missouri and has pastored churches in Rolla and Hannibal.

The community is invited to stop by the church, located at 12143 Old St. Charles Road in Bridgeton, to meet the new pastor. The Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.For more information, call 314-291-1710.

- Twenty-four priests of the Archdiocese of St. Louis have been accorded papal honors by Pope Benedict XVI.

Twenty of the priests have been granted the title of Chaplain to His Holiness, and four have been named Prelates of Honor to His Holiness. Four other priests have been honored with the title of Protonotary Apostolic Supernumerary.

Area recipients are: Prelate of Honor to His Holiness, Monsignor John Leykam, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in St. Ann; Chaplain to His Holiness, the Rev. Eugene Morris, director of the Permanent Diaconate Office, Adjunct Professor of Sacramental Theology at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary and director of Saint Maximillian Kolbe House of Discernment in North St. Louis; the Rev. John Schuler, pastor of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Florissant; and the Rev. Mark Ullrich, pastor of Our Lady of the Holy Cross in North St. Louis.
